Washington Avenue Streetscape was a revitalization for Washington Ave from the America’s Convention Center to Laclede’s Landing. This entailed: bridging the existing Washington Avenue streetscapes from both the eastern and western portion; restoration of deteriorated sidewalks and bringing the pedestrian routes up to current ADA standards; addressing the many underground conflicts, such as structure basement extensions, utility vaults, and the MetroLink Tunnel. ABNA’s responsibilities included design, quality control, investigative studies, topographic survey, opinion of probable costs, pavement design, drainage analysis, utility coordination reconstruction, constructability solutions established to minimize impacts to facilities and ongoing operations, development of construction contract drawings, and contract specifications. ABNA integrated sustainable LEED strategies into the design and construction where feasible. This project was honored by The American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri (ACEC/MO) with its 2018 Engineering Excellence Award.
