In honor of Women’s History Month, ABNA Principal, Nicole Adewale LEED AP, received a “Tribute to Women in Business Award” at the Missouri Minority Business Development Agency’s (MBDA) 3rd Annual Tribute to Women Business Leaders Brunch on March 25th, 2023. This event recognized Nicole’s achievements, along with the achievements of seven other remarkable women who are making their mark in the fields of education, business leadership, and social entrepreneurship. The event focused on economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and featured a brunch buffet, entertainment, and tributes to the honorees.

During her acceptance remarks, Nicole challenged attendees to share their wisdom and experience with the next generation:

“Reach out to a young person, help bring them up. Use your power, your platform, and your privilege in order to bring someone else along.”

Nicole was celebrated as the co-founder of ABNA Engineering Inc., a multimillion-dollar Structural and Civil Engineering Design Services firm with approximately 60 employees. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Urban Affairs from Harris-Stowe State University,  and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Social Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Nicole is married to Abe Adewale PE, her business partner and Principal/CEO of ABNA. Nicole and Abe are the proud parents of four daughters.

The various programs, services, and initiatives MBDA provides are concentrated on helping MBEs grow today while guiding them to exceed the industry needs of tomorrow.
